$3.50 and 2 mints

The short micro story $3.50 and 2 mints is about a boy wondering about the robbery of his dads car.

$3.50 and 2 Mints

It was late at night maybe even early in the morning. My dad said he had heard something but didn’t think much of it. I was in bed sound asleep when the theft happened. Now I didn’t expect that anyone would get robbed in our neighborhood. When I got in my dad’s car I saw things scattered around but I didn’t think much but my dad saw some change was missing and that other things that were missing. Now even though it was petty theft I found it so interesting that someone stolen from my dad’s car. So, an image started forming in my head of a man dressed in all black in the dead of night and picked the lock of my dad’s car. He masterfully looked through everything and decided what he wanted. Now I thought what if he had been caught what would he or even she looked like, but I knew they would never come to justice. I would love to solve the mystery. But chasing danger is not my type of thing. So, I let it go. Slowly things started coming to light. The neighbors had security cameras that caught the man’s appearance. For some reason he was walking two dogs and committed the robbery at 5 am. A bit odd I thought. Then I wondered to myself if he got caught what would he think? What would he say? There would be one question I would ask. “Was it worth $3.50 and 2 mints?”
